“Scarf Me Up”
When we decided to create a new logo, we never dreamed that it would be designed by the great Ernie Cefalu. Ernie is one of the original creators of the iconic Rolling Stones "Lips and Tongue" logo. He has designed 247 covers starting with the album cover for Jesus Christ Superstar. He has also designed album covers for recording artists such as Cheech & Chong, The Doors, Aerosmith, The Bee Gees, Black Sabbath, Jefferson Airplane, Iron Butterfly, as well as a string of album covers he created for Alice Cooper and the list just goes on. Ernie has received 3 Grammy nominations and 10 Music Hall of Fame Awards. He's also been presented with 15 gold albums and a triple platinum album for covers he has designed.
With the help of Pennie and Vince Fernandez, we were able to contact Ernie about our project in September 2020. We wanted to incorporate a burger into our logo, but it took some time for ideas to take shape. Pennie had the idea do a play on Ernie's Rolling Stones logo and Vince provided a quick sketch. We sent the sketch to Ernie and thus created the "Scarf Me Up" logo, which Ernie himself named.
We want to thank Ernie, who was enthusiastic to work on this project and he quickly took time from his busy schedule to work on this. We would also like to thank Pennie and Vince Fernandez for their input and contact with Ernie during the process.
In November of 2020, Ernie presented us with the final product and we were blown away. We are pleased to present our "Scarf Me Up" logo, designed exclusively for Rustwater Kitchen and Taproom.
